Congratulations first, I also need a website so I know alot of thought and preperation went into getting it this far! Your work looks very nice. My photos turn out worse tha my scans. #11 was the only problem I'd fix if possible It would be nice to know what size the pendants are, although I am awar...

Andrew,
What happens when you try to cap them? Could you paint the lusters on? Were there examples at your site?
That black and white plate is wonderful, a glass saw for intricate cuts?
thanks, Lyn (Born n raised in Minn.)

I fire in a small aim jewelry kiln and it full fuses in the back and tack fuses in front ( no elements in the door) I have stacked things 4 layers thick and never had things crack apart. For me its crucial where in the kiln things are placed. LOW #4 to 500 20 to 30 min MED. #8 to950 " " &q...

Thanks Terry,
I'm being very careful not to mix glass. Heres some pendants I've done. I was just looking around this morning to see if anyone is doing etching on glass. Didn't find any.

Tajai, I use an Inland easymark with the tip that came on it. Its small like a big pen and much easier to handle than my Dremal which will work but even with a flex shaft is much harder to control. The Inland is designed for signatures and since mine is years old I've heard I'm lucky it still works. ...

I have an old very small front loading Aim jewlery kiln and if yours does not have elements in the door expect a difference in firing from the front to the back of the kiln. Mine full fuses in the back and contour fuses along the door. With only a pyrometer I have to keep exacting firing schedules, ...

Thanks Mike, Do the bronze and copper have to be polished after firing? If so can you protect the glass with masking tape or contact paper? I used copper on my first firings and it turned black, at the time I didn't realize my pyrometer was over 100 degrees off so that may have made it worse. Really...

gold wire for pendants?

Some of my dichro pendants would look better with a gold bail. I've tried 14 K gold wire between layers, it held up for the firing (unlike sterling silver wire) but became so black I can't seem to get it clean. A local jewler suggested a higher 22 K gold. Has anyone tried that? Another suggestion wa...

Thank you Gayle,
The images are etched, freehand, with a little engraving tool. Some lines scratched with a fine point.

My first dichroic tree split it looked like a branch so no big deal. The little jewlery kiln I use full fuses in the back and contour fuses in the front. The temp. seem to make alot of difference in the amount distortion. I've got "spots" that are best. Different types of glass crinkle mor...

New pendants, I'm happy with the silver bails. Some would look better with gold bails. Know of any available?

It was the m in community, thanks rosanna. Hope you can get there now Amy.
Kitty, plating sounds expensive and I hate to add another step in the process. I have a great book on patinas around here someplace If I could make the silver even look goldish I'd be happy. Thanks for the comments. Lyn

On "Pink Rear"I think I finially made a decent fine silver bail. Some of these really need a gold bail, anyone know if there are gold bails available with the leaf on the back. When I tried gold imbeded in the glass it came out very black, any easy way to clean that? Thanks for any comment...
