thanks charlie. you think it's the windex, or can it do other stuff to the glass?

a friend's firing some pieces for me -- all BE compatible glass -- & in a kiln w/ pieces from several people (getting glass from the same source & sometimes the same sheets), mine are the only ones that are developing discolorations --- she says it looks like blackish & goldish crud trap...

..and with which tools it's cut.

reform rabbi would probably say yes, tho the orthodox are likely to disagree. then again, they're not likely to touch each other.....

thanks, ron, but what i found on the crloo & harmony sites are for the circle cutter, only (vs. the strip/circle cutter)....or do they carry an add-on attachment, too, that'll do the job?

i'd like to buy the silberschnitt circle/strip cutter, but am having trouble finding companies that carry it AND sell to individuals vs. companies -- all of the suggestions i've found in the archives/google (& yes, searched w/ bohle, too) either lead to companies that won't sell to individuals O...

for those of you who have this cutter, will it also (accurately) cut strips as narrow as 1/4 - 1/2 inch?

hi.... i was wondering what material(s) folks use (or would recommend) for the back of a mezzuzah case? (& if you have no idea what i'm talking about, a sort of a holder or case for attaching a prayer parchment to a doorjamb) -- i'm imagining it would be helpful to have it be fairly water resist...

as 1 of this new generation (makes me sound younger, tho, i like that!) i would love to learn more about firing before i buy my own idiot-proof kiln.... can any of you recommend weekend tutorials or instructors in the southeast? ...say within a few hours (driving distance) of Atlanta or Charlotte?
