Consider the hoist sometimes used off the back of a pick-up truck. It can pick up quite a bit of weight and can swivel from one table kiln to another at 90 to 180 degrees from the first. El cheapo supremo!!!

Aluminum is soldered, welded at about 950 degrees.Very little room for error before it turns into a puddle.

If your detector is ceiling mounted, try mounting it about a foot down on the wall. This may help, and still allow the thing to do it's job. t :idea: :lol:

Try to make holders out of plastic or wood that you can use as a buffer between you and the machine.Just about anything will cut down on the vibrations . :lol:

With the L & L- the element holders will still look new in 15-20 years. High firing normally wears out elements prematurely, but between a friend and myself, our 3 L & L's still look good. The oldest is over 20 yrs of age,, and they all appear to be in quite good shape. The price is a little...

Glenda- - - They are most likely referring to pouring already molten metal onto the material. If the glass and 'caulk' go up at the same time, there should not be any temperature shock.
