Combining Glass and Stone with Weston Lambert

Wednesday, June 21 to Sunday, June 25, 2017
Visiting Instructor: Weston Lambert

Second session!   During this intensive workshop students will learn how to merge multiple materials using kiln-casting, laminating, and coldworking.  While our initial focus will be on combining glass and stone, the techniques learned will enable you to combine glass with virtually any object and material.

In addition to basic processes using rubber molds, plaster/silica mold making, and kilncasting, we'll also explore the use of a variety of adhesives for gluing glass to different substrates. Experience with basic glass fusing processes is essential.

Weston Lambert lives in Northern Utah’s Cache Valley and creates his work in a small studio attached to his home. His sculptures have been included in Glass Quarterly and Sculpture, and have been shown both nationally and internationally at exhibits such as SOFA Chicago and the Cheongju Craft Biennale in South Korea. In addition to the works he creates for galleries, Weston has also recently completed public commissions of glass, metal and stone for the cities of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Geneva, Illinois. Weston's website is at www.westonlambert.com
