Blind vents... I stick bamboo skewers thru the side of the investment container and into the wax positive wherever air-traps may form (chin, ears, nose on a bust, say). No need for wax on the skewer. My usual mix is 50% plaster, 50% flint or powdered silica, with something to increase strength - I use a little chopped glass fibre.
Experiment! Above all, keep it weak, else it'll break your glass.
