To find your tax base just take the total sale and divide by 1.x , x being your salestax rate. Example: Sold for $50.00, divide by 1.07 assuming your tax rate is 7%. That gives you a base price of $46.73 sales tax of $3.27 total $50.00.

Hi Marty,
I did search the archive using pitting as a search term. Found post about pitting with ird and kiln shelves, but nothing regarding steel molds. I assume you are telling me it's my mold that caused the pitting.

Pitting and steel mold

I just slumped my first project. I used Spectrum 96 transparent blue and some clear. I fused 2 layers first and then slumped into an old miners pan which I first sandblasted and drilled holes into and then heated and sprayed kiln wash onto. I fused to 1225 F for 5 minutes. All around the edges and d...

Closing Peep holes

I have a Skutt 1018 side firing ceramic kiln that I am using for glass. My Skutt book says to always leave the top peep hole unplugged. I read in one of the posts to plug all holes to avoid drafts, so my question is can I plug all the holes and not hurt my kiln? Does the leaving one unplugged only a...

Thanks for the replies. The schedule I used for this pot melt was
650dph to 1650 hold 80 min Then off while I reached in with tongs and removed the pot, not fun I might add, then back up to 1450 hold for 20 min. AFAP to 965 hold 30 min. then 250 dph to 750, off and cool to room temp.

Newbe Pot Melt

I have been reading this forum for a while now but have never posted until now. I am experimenting with pot melts and have a question. I have done three melts so far all with transparent glass, two with Bullseye and one with Spectrum. Can someone tell me why the transparent glass is no longer transp...
