Try getting your bits at http://www.lopacki.com. The prices are good. Bits last a good while. I can usually get about 50 holes per bit.

I never throw away my bullseye glass. I keep accumulating more and more. What do you guys do with your excess. I have tons of little pieces.

I solder alot of my fused glass. I haven't had this happen. Are you taking the frit to full fuse? If it's possible, maybe you could use clear as a base. I think maybe it has something to do with using frit?

Just a note on removing bead release. Try Oxyclean. I soaked my beads in it for about 5 minutes, then used thick pipe cleaners to give it a quick swipe. It works like a charm.
