We took a friend from Indiana (My Husban's from there) to Roadrunners and he went to the Bar to get smokes. He came back without them and said there are people at the bar with guns! My husband told h...

The local Stained Glass shop both fires for a fee and rents time on their kilns. I think she's getting $35 per piece to fire, not sure about the rental.

You all have me thinking. My kiln is a used ceramic kiln. It looks like it had been previously washed, but should I add to it? You don't have to remove the old do you? If so how? Is there a difference between ceramic & glass kiln wash (in regards to the bottom of the kiln only)? Thanks - Steph

Hi Jim,
I was looking at those molds last night. Which one did you try?
I was wondering on the plate or bowl mold how the "foot" (the right around the bottom that it sits on) came out.

Fiber Board and Kieser-Lee(Sp?) are different right? It is my understanding you don't have to prefire the KL, is that correct?
Thanks, Stephie

If you get a thermocouple(sp?) and pyrometer you can manually control the kiln and know what the temp is. You can get these for about $100 bucks and is alot easier then cones. I just put an 06 cone in my kiln sitter to keep it on and control the temp myself. Centre DeVerre has them as well as Omega....

Lots of power outlets. There never seems to be enought or one where you want it.
And LOTS of storage for glass. No matter if you think you have enough for now, you don't. :D
