Hi Kilninit,
Welcome to the WGB. If you want help on a particular topic or piece of equipment you will be more likely to get a useful answer if you include specifics. In this case the type of
kiln you are using, make and model or, if homemade, a description of how it is made: fire brick with a fibreboard liner, kin brick, unlined, fibreboard in a metal 'box', with side elements or top elements, or both.
Expand your question a bit more with specific information and I'm sure someone will know the answer you need.
I've never experienced the problem you are having as my main
kiln is a home-made fire brick
kiln top elements on fibre blanket in an expanded metal
lid. There is nothing to create
dust. I'm sure others will be able to help you if you provide more information..
The problem has been mentioned many times on the Board. Did you do a search using the appropriate terms?
A quick search of the board found the following:
search.php?keywords=dust+dropping+from+ ... 0d71a87514
If you search using your own
kiln's specifications you'll probably get better search results. The problem has appeared frequently so you're sure to find the answer. Expanding your question with your own
kiln's details will
help board members provide useful answers.
Good luck with it.
