Well while everyone was having fun at WGW, I spent my weekend finishing the fixes to my web site... and fixing the garage door. I have totally revised the site with lots of images of work done this year. Please visit http://www.leatherbarrow.ca for a peak at what's new.

Bob,

the way I did that was to click the Img button, then paste in the entire image URL.... in this case, it was http://www.leatherbarrow.ca/images/Web% ... 20Site.JPG

Then click the Img button again to close it out.

Your new pieces are simply elegant, as is the web site. Standards of excellence have been raised yet again. Beautiful. I really like the tonal variations in the smaller green bowl, and how the yellow base of the green bowl ties in with and accents the larger piece. The whole composition is rather timeless, too. Extremely appealing. thanks for posting the sneak preview.

The new site is excellent and a worthy place to display your magnificent work. The technique section falls short of explaining the process though, darnit.

Your photography also is wonderful. Having seen some of these in person, and now a proud owner of one, I can attest to the accuracy of your camera work.

bob, the site looks great - only thing from a technical standpoint is i would recommend not having spaces in your file names - i.e. Nested%20Bowls%20green%20and%20yellow%20side.htm
i would use underscores instead - some of the older browsers may not be happy with the spaces ;P

and the work is absolutely gorgeous

Bob......your application of technique, use of subtle coloring and your communication of finely tuned visual sensibility are superb, as always.

Are we looking at one (two?) layers of sheet with built up top layers of powder?

Even at 20 inch diameters, these pieces have a beautiful ethereal delicacy.

That was worth the wait to see, I love your new work. The edges of the bowls add so much to the look. Your web site is outstanding I really enjoyed checking it out. Very imformative and gives the reader a good sense of who you are. Your photos as always are great, I like how you showed the bowls looking down and then from an angle. Your web site was well thought out and presented.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the comments and support for my work. Here are some replies to your comments.

Gale, yes the pieces are very thin. All of the pieces with irregular edges are only one layer of 1/8" clear sheet glass with a thin coating of powder. The irregular edge is due to the surface tension pulling in the powder and edge of the glass.

Dee, thnaks for the suggestion about the naming conventions for image files. I'll work on that for the next upgrade.

Jim, the process is fully described... just read the page backwards and look for the hidden messages.

Rats, I almost fell for that one, too, Bob. You promised: this year!!!

Are the pieces attached or just nested (nestled?) together? It all feels very Asian to me, the symbols in the center of your favorite help with that aesthetic.
