These panels are the last four of twelve successfully made for home and cafe. The theme for this lot was so dominant for so long that it has become part of the logo for our cafe.
I like how light livens float up and am looking forward to the chance of doing something different soon once I get my fix from working with Bullseye again. - haydo
Life is like a raft, so be like a rat!...Challenging being a captain type rat though, going down with each ship and all!!
Thanks everyone, sorry I can't get this pasting images thing working 100%.
I do make the chilli for the nachos and eggs but the chilli's on the wind panel are feathers(from a battered bird). - haydo.

Yummy. What kind of spices in the batter? Betty Crocker
Love it. that's the stuff. Isn't sand casting fun and effective!!
Thanks to everybody in Oz who pioneered the techniques.
Part of what I love about it is the spontaneity and individuality of each panel. We can create one of's instead of relying on computer generated repeatable patterns. Even repeated patterns become unique editions.
I wouldn't mind trying to do battered quail once I get over the nori rolls saga that I've got myself into.
My Paragon GL22A kiln doesn't get the workout that I'd like to give it, if it was a bigger kiln I would almost be in tears to see it as cold.
These panels aren't from a sand castings, but from different information that I'd picked up from this board and personal firing failures. It's a combination of ceramic fibre, kiln wash, kitty litter, whiting, clay and a mix from potential studio waste. With care a couple of moulds from different designs were able to be reused after some mods or some had to be remade with hindsight. - haydo
