HOW TO AVOID STAIN-MARKS ON GLASS BEING BENT OVER MILD STEEL

:? I am a commercial glass bending artist from India.We usually use mild steel for molds.We 'CANNOT' use stainless steel.A few glass samples got spoilt [black stains] when being bent 'OVER' such molds at 750 degrees[celisius].How do I avoid this?

750C is 1382F. That's pretty hot for slumping. Do you have to go that hot? Are you slumping float? Try a lower temperature and a longer soak. Coat your mold well. Brock
