Melting temperature

Post by Havi »

Hello dear friends
I would be very grateful if someone would tell me the melting or fusing temperature of BE powder tekta 1101 and/ or clear transparent powder 1401.

Additionally, I would be grateful to know the melting / fusing temperature of fine frit 01 grind again, of tekta BE1101 and / or clear transparent 1401.

I need to know this in order to know how high. Do I need to get if I cap a piece with powder or fine frit.

Many thanks in advance

Depends on the kiln and the rate at which you fire. Somewhere between 1400 and 1500F. The larger particles will take a higher temperature.

We generally fire to a full fuse when we do this, haven't experimented with how low you can get away with.

I am also with Brad on this one. Test it is probably the best advice I could give. My schedules have to take in flat glass, frit of all sizes , and all sorts of things happening. I go up 50 degrees per hour to 1230 and hold 2 hours, and only up to 1480. So there is my schedule and temp for powder to #3 frit size in large pieces. Les
