Pete, the samples arrived, very quickly, and as soon as I finish fiddling with artwork I'll unpack them. It was suggested to me that they won't stand the high temperature of soldering but would probably handle flux OK so could I fire the product after assembly. This isn't possible, of course. For a project that isn't copper-foiled and/or leaded and puttied, such as a fused panel, or an already-slumped bowl, it would no doubt be fine. I think that's how others have used it successfully. Also an assembled panel won't fit in the kiln.
