Question about a mold

Post by loricrawford »

I see a drape mold for a mask that I'd like to try. It's a half face mold with the eye sections open. How to you keep it that way (no glass across the eye openings). Being in Mardi Gras country I think I could make some cute masks but being a newbie am confused about this part. Any advice would be appreciated!

Stuff the open eyes with fiber blanket dipped in alumina hydrate or kilnwash. Drape over face molds are tricky. If the glass cracks it was because the glass shrunk more than the mold while cooling. If it doesn't crack, you are good to go...
