When a color doesn't strike

Post by Laura Walter »

Can a color that didn't strike on the 1st time through the kiln (violet striker, #1234, came out a muddy transparent blue depending on the light) go through the kiln again to reach it's intended color or is it now scrap? I didn't hold it for 2 hours at 1225.

To help it strike better hold in the 1225 to 1240F range for half an hour one hour. Two hours is probably overkill.
