Anyone have experience with this stuff from Pyrotec (shelves, dams, molds, whatever)?

Never heard of it, but it looks interesting. Let me know if you try it out or find out more.

Brad- One of my Canadian students uses it instead of VB- it's magnesium salt based, seems to be stronger than VB with less warpage. I asked on Pete's board, we'll see what comes up. I'll also call Jim Wiles (?) and see what he knows.

I'm interested in its machine-ability and whether it can take kiln wash. I've been having trouble with vermiculite board leaving a haze on the glass.

Tried calcium silicate boards, they're prone to thermal shock, but perhaps this can work. Let me know what Jim says, if he can get it I can drive down to Charlotte and pick some up to try.

Another closely monitored private board, but Pete is more irascible than Brad. It's mostly blowing but there are a few active fusers. No anonymity there.

Thanks Brad and Marty. I know of Craftweb, Just haven't heard it referred to as 'Pete's board'. As you say, mostly blowing, so I don't browse it and certainly am not qualified to contribute.
