I am attempting to create my own high fire clay slumping shelves and forms and I know many of you have pottery backrounds. Mine is limited but I enjoy working clay shapes and have a kiln at my disposal. . Advise on type of clay and other experiences would be appreciated.

Kiln shelves are made with a mullite/corderite clay body. I think it takes a high fire. I have been in a factory that does just that. If is was simple to do, I think there wouldn't be specialty companies that make them. The key to a good kiln shelf is perfectly flat. That is so difficult that the only really good company is in Germany.
