Sharpie residue.

Does anyone know how to remove silver sharpie marks after firing. I just discovered the silver sharpie to mark on black glass, and assumed it would burn off like black ink does...... Now I have lots of little silver marks all over a kiln load of plates.... is there anyway to get that off now???? Thanks. barbara

sharpie marks

Borck, thanks for the reply, but the marks are on irid glass fused onto black glass. Do you think that etching cream could remove the silver sharpie marks and not hurt the irid coating, as the cream does not do a good job removeing irid????? Barbara

Well, for anyone out there who is interested, etching cream does remove silver sharpie marks on irid coating without ruining the irid coating...... I just tried it, left it on for ~ 15 minutes and washed it off, scrubbed a little and voila, a sharpie-less look!!!!! Barbara
