small circle slump mold

Hi gang of glass
I fused a 3.5 inch circle to fit a small mold for dipping sauces. I want to slump it next. Should I fire a clear cover over it first ? I've used Bullseye double rolled as the base with iridized stripes as the design. I usually slump at 1250 with a 10 min. hold cooling with another hold at 950 for 10. and then letting the kiln cool the rest of the way by itself. This is my first small slump and this schedule works on the larger plates I have done. Do you think it matters if the piece is small and concave compared to a gradual slope of a plate? :D
