Hi, I finally recieved my Olympic 126GFE kiln and am on my third set of trials being guided by Brad's book. My only concern is slight glue residues on the cooled produce. Would I increase my chances of burning it off completely by raising my max soak from 1450 to 1500°C ? The optimum soak time using two 10" round shelves appears to be around 45M at 1450°C for Spectrum 96 float. Does this sound about right or should I boost the temp an extra 50°F.

So far, this has been a heck of a lot of fun

The glue burns out by 1000, so a higher process temp wouldn't help. Maybe try a different glue, or less of it. White glue doesn't always completely burn out, so try watering down by 50%. Some people use Superglue, I use Loctite something or other and sometimes I use hot glue, which burns out clean. Make sure you are venting your kiln (pull a peep hole plug or prop the lid up just a little bit).

Patty Gray uses Super Glue and a lot of it to hold work in place, I was amazed that it burnt out clean.
