MK470 Tile Saw Problem

I make Dichroic Glass Pendants. I fuse in about 9" loafs and then use a MK470 Tile Saw with a special glass blade to cut this loaf into smaller pieces. I have been using this saw for almost 2 years now. I have recently started experiencing problems with chipping and breaking. I replaced the blade last week and I am still having the same problems. It doesn't "feel" like the glass is feeding through smoothly. Also, it "sounds" rough. There is plenty of water being fed through to the glass so I don't think that's the problem. The thing is the slower I feed the MORE breakage there is. The faster I feed the less breakage. I am ruining a lot of Pendants and I have orders backing up. Any suggestions? I would appreciate any help given!

I initially bought an MK, the interior bearing was bad and I had to take it back. Maybe that is the problem. Have you called MK or the place you bought it from?

No, I haven't. But I'll take your suggestion and call MK and see if they can help me figure out the problem.

2 years X # of pendants per day/week/month. = buy a new one
It may not be the answer you want to hear but the fact still remains that that unit is paid 10 times over.
Having the barings done will cost as much in time as a new saw.
FYI - Did you test the blade - I have gotten bent blades new from the pack.

Good point Lionel.
In this case I would absolutely agree. You might want to invest in a bigger saw too, one that is more robust and built for heavy use.

call the mk service dept, they are very helpfull and have service centers in alot of places - of course not where i live - it sounds like the motor is crapping out...
