Loading kiln question

Good morning everyone:

My kiln inside dimensions are 20x20x15. top elements only. I have so many pieces that I need to "full fuse". I was hoping I could load the kiln with 2 shelfs (one on top of the other) and save time firing the pieces. My question is - since the elements are top only - do you think they will fire evenly? I would hate for the ones on the top shelf to get to full fuse before the ones on the bottom shelf.

Thanks for any advice!
Kim

There WILL be a difference in the heat work on the two shelves. Brock

Yes, a really big difference. If you can do it, put in three shelves, and only load the bottom two. That will help alot, but doing multiple shelves in a top fired is problematic.

Thanks for the advice Tony - I decided not to do multiple shelves - just to be patient and take my time.
