I've made 10 inch discs, domed, to mount as wall lights/sconces before I checked out how to mount them.I,ve hit a blank wall now but I want to do more as they really show off the glass well.If any one knows how I'd be relieved. peter.

How deep is the dome Peter?

the domes are only about 1 1/2 inch. from a wok. I tried a photo but I'm new to computers and couldn't move it from the olympus camedia folder. peter

I've made tons of dome fixtures over the years. If you go to my website http://www.pattygray.com on the home page click on Architectural Glass then click on Lighting. There are several wall sconces there. You can at least get an idea how to make the metal brackets or have them made. Good luck.

Patty, your work is beautiful. Do you have someone that fabricates the hanging/mounting mechanisms, or is that something you do yourself, as well?

There are some commercial light fixtures out there that hold on to a domed circle of glass with spring clamps or plastic tabs. I bought some small ones at Ikea for $5 each. I actually like them a lot and will some day toss the glass and replace it with my own. There are other sizes of similar styles available from various manufacturers. I found some one day searching on the web a while back. You can probably find something similar in OZ.

Thank you for the compliment. I don't do any of the metal work or the electrical. Some of the installments have been pretty big over the years. Are you making lighting now? Styles, etc.?

I'm still working in leaded glass and copper foil (2D), but fusing is right around the corner. Here's my current project (scroll down a bit):

Basically, dis-assembling a fireplace screen and fixing the middle panel solidly to the window casement, hopefully in a "floating" manner rather than just resting on the sill. I'll then design and make a cousin of this panel and install in the same manner in the next window over.

I'm beginning to suspect that a lot of hanging/installation hardware are so one-of-a-kind because the pieces they support are so one-of-a-kind.

I followed the link of your site to New Blue Moon.... what lovely work they do!
