Nozzles-which kind? how much?

Post by Cheryl »

I know that almost any kind of nozzle is better than ceramic. But when I was just on the McMaster-Carr web site, they had carbide nozzles. I have also seen stainless steel nozzles. They're all more expensive than I thought they'd be, so what gives?

The main advantage to the expensive nozzles is that the hole diameter stays constant longer, as opposed to the ceramic ones that slowly (or not so slowly) enlarge. Also, you won't have to change nozzles as often.
As far as $$$ goes, it's a wash. The boron one lasts 20 times longer but costs 20 times as much.
If you're doing detail work go for the expensive ones.
