Refiring a Piece

Hi Everyone,

If I'm refiring a piece and adding only frit as a design element, do I need to go as slow through the bubble zone, (1100-1200 going up), as I did the first time? Do I need to program a few holds in that range also?

Thanks, Happy Holidays,

Jon

No, there's no need to squeeze if there's nothing to squeeze... go directly to fuse

Hi Jon!

You will want to ramp up to 1000 slowly, particularly if there is a lot of color contrast in your piece, or a lot of frit on top. Otherwise you are likely to get a thermal shock on your way up.

Thanks Tony & Barbara,
I thought so but just wanted to make sure. I ussually go up about 350-375 dph to 1000 f depending on the size of the piece.
