The growth of ice is very similar in many respects

In the article note

No neucleation points = no ice

This is also true of other materials which can exist in a cristaline / liquid form

In glass when using anti devit stuff the newcleation points R disolved and or the surrounding glass is 2 liquid 2 grow cristals

Thanks Brian and Ron. Interesting article. I always am wondering what physical-chemical reactions produces anti-devit stuff. I think anti-devit can't drop liquidus temperature enough to prevent crystallization from occur. I might vote for a nucleus dissolution mechanism, however I would like to know for sure.

Hi Hugo

If the glass is 2 liquid the devit cant grow

Normal glass with devit in it heated so realy runney, then devit will disolve

The anti devit stuff does this but at a lower temp

So I have new work that uses enamels (Thompson) on float. I've got very light devit in the non-enamel spots.

If I spray some borax will it have any negative effects on the enamel?

Thompson's sells a clear enamel that can be used on those areas.

I am not shure

There was some chat about borax being water soluabble over time

If the enamel has 'devit' on it n the enamel is liquid / shiny

My guess is its not devit

A molten enamel should not B able 2 devit as it is 2 liquid

MayB fire higher ??
