How to fix stupid mistake?

Post by Linda Blackburn »

I did something stupid: I tried to do a pot melt into a plate mold. I got the shape I was after, but a small shallow piece of the mold came off with the glass. I would like to salvage this mold, which is a square plate mold, BTW. Can I fill that spot with with a tiny piece of fiber blanket? My other idea is to fill it with a little casting plaster. The missing piece is a little bigger than a dime and 1/8" deep. I guess as a last resort I could cut a piece of fiber blanket large enough to cover the bottom of the mold.

Buy a new mold and chip out the entire old mold with a pattern so you have a unique texture/pattern on your old mold.
