Wall Sconce

I would like to replace an existing (old and boring) wall sconce with a fused glass sconce, but the wall sconce kits for over $100 are giving me heart burn. Any ideas for making my own wall mount bracket would be greatly appreciated.

Is there any way you can reuse the frame/glass support system of the old, boring sconce and simply make new glass to suit?

What type of workshop might you have access to? Metalwork, woodwork?Jen

I know it's not warm glass, but I have here four once boring, now lovely wall-lights decorated with adhesive coloured film....

Replacing the shade on the one you have is the best idea, if possible. No additional installation and you know it works in the space. If that doesn't work, go to your local big box/hardwarerebuild-recycle store and buy the cheapest wall sconce they have. Use the glass in that sconce for your pattern when making the mold.
