I mix Spectrum 96 frit : 1 of clear frit no. 2
2 clear frit -fine,and 1 crestall white (209)
I used cmc , Distilled water
As you can see the white is not really white it as a kind of gray
And form the down side it became a really gray

Especially the part that was deep in the mould.

What could be reason?

Can it be because the mould was moist?

What should I do, Should i need to reduse the amount of the fine frit and increase the medium frit?
Mostly I worked just with fine frit, combination of color and clear. It didn't happen.
Why it happens just with the white

If the use of clear glass is causing the grey tone, larger clear frit and a longer soak will probably increase the grey because the glass is even more transparent.

But that may not be the problem--Osnat, are you talking about the dark grey in the center or the color of the petals? I'm seeing two different greys in your picture. It looks as if the dark grey dots are a purple or grey color accent you applied, but I want to make sure. The other flower has a yellow center. If there is lead in the Spectrum white and you're putting a lead-reactive accent color on top, that could cause the dark grey.

If that is the case, separate the accent color and frit pack with a layer of clear powder. The clear powder will provide a barrier against the reaction.

If it is a problem with the transparent glass looking too grey, just pack the glass as you normally would, but sift a thin layer of pure white powder on what will be the underside of the leaf. The white will provide a background for the transparent glass, brightening it up.

Thank you for your answer, I saw it just now .
Morganatic ,you right about the color.
I try to explain :
It is the same flower that I took photo from 2 side.
The first photo is the lower side (the side that toched the mould) and it is gray.
The seconded photo is the up side, and the color of the Patel I get is not white , but is it not really gray. It more dirty white.

I don't know if the white is reactive white the yellow , but from my experience from using the crestall white (209) and yellow transparent. (0161) , they are not reactive ( I had the experience whit them in fusing tec . And not pate de verre tec., dose it matter? )

I had the same problem with my maglesses this year. I made little snowmen. I ended up taking out the clear all together and just using white.

Try using WHITE FRIT (200) instead of the Crystal white(209). In my experience the Crystal White (209) has a bit of translucency to it and a slight gray tinge in it to start with.

Maybe the use of Less cmc can help.
cmc sometimes is the reason for a look of kind grey/not clean colour.
