Hi
Does anyone have a firing schedule for slumping lampwork beads (CoE 104) into cabochons - I have a SC2 paragon kiln with a Sentry digital programmer. REally welcome any advice.
Many thanks
Glenda

Re: Slumping lampwork beads for cabochons - firing schedule
I don't have a schedule off the top of my head, but as I recall when I tried it I slipped about 50 degrees below schedules for 90/96 and stuck with the times. Worked reasonably well, your mileage may vary.
HOWEVER...bunch of 104 colors (and actually, some 90/96 torchwork rods as well) don't do well with the prolonged heat of fusing. I was working with Moretti/Effetre, and got a lot of sludge browns and greys. Watch out for pinks and reds, especially. I would test-fire small pieces first, both for schedule and to make sure you know what to expect from the colors.

Re: Slumping lampwork beads for cabochons - firing schedule
This is just a quickie iPad photo of 104 miliflori that I brought back from a trip to Italy. We went to Murano and I brought back about 20lbs of it! Anyway….This memory piece is on my kitchen counter. I fired it to 1410 and it came out perfect. I was happily surprised. I have also fired some beads to the same temp. Good luck….hope that helps.
