here is a tile that I made using terra cotta and glass. 30cm x 30cm x 25mm
There are plenty of things wrong with it but I like the idea of a clay and glass piece.
It was fired twice. I fired the terra cotta to 1000c first and then I added the glass and fired to 700C.

Peter, From the labels you gave as "front lit" and "back lit" it appears that the yellow piece was formed in a space that was cut out of the clay. If so, did you use fiber paper to cushion the glass to ease the difference in contraction between the clay and glass during firing? I love the idea of combining the two. So many possibilities if the compatibility issues can be solved.

Yes, I cut out the shapes while the clay was in a leather hard state, then fired it.
I should ask someone to hold it up to the sun while I photograph it. The photos are not showing the full transparency of the glass.
I mixed 50% plaster and 50% course silica (silica sand, from your pottery supply store) and put it into cut out space with a kiln shelf underneath it then spooned frit on top. Pile it up high.
Here is a close up:

Here's another one I did using the same technique.
