pottery kilnwash

OMG I signed on to do some paint and slump projects at a girls summer camp nearby my house. They have a Skutt pottery kiln with a controller. I asked their pottery person to bisque me some 8" diameter bowls 2" deep, and they want to do some bottle slumping. They have a bag of pottery kilnwash. I just called the pottery supply to see what is in their kilnwash, and to my horror, he told me equal parts Alumina, EPK, and flint. The flint is silica flour, and could be a killer. When I sandcast, I coat the sand with alumina and it doesn't stick. In that case there are large particles of silica surrounded by small particles of alumina which keeps it from sticking. Does anybody have any experience with this sort of kilnwash? I have plenty of EPK in my studio, but am low on alumina hydrate. I can get the pottery supply to send over a few pounds if I have to.
