Hello, I'm new to the forums. I've recently starting making fused glass and am loving it! What I would like to do soon is be able to make larger patterned squares and cut them down to smaller pieces. I've been trying to research the best tools for this, but can't really afford an expensive glass cutting machine. I have seen a few places that some people use inexpensive tile cutters that you can get from DIY stores (and a glass supplier in the UK sells something similar). I've seen one that I think might do, but would really love feedback from anyone on if you think it will do the basic job of cutting straight strips of glass (I'm not thinking of cutting circles):

I understand that I might have to get a different saw blade more suitable for glass.

Yes, this machine will work. You will have to get better (and preferably thinner) blades for it. The discs sold with these are poor quality and loose their diamonds quickly.
Gert your rain gear out as they spray water all over the operator,.

Thanks very much for your help Stephen. Not sure I like the idea of getting doused as I was hoping to use it in my craft room:) Still, next step then is to find out the best type of blades to get. At least I know I can get a cutter like this:)

I do mine outside with a GFI in the electrical line.
