Kiln repair

I have an approx24"x42" fiberboard lid on my kiln. After 15 years the board has moved within the Stainless Steel casing such that the front edge of the Fiberboard is no longer supported. I was wondering if I could cut some Stainless Steel mesh and brace the corners to stabile the board? GlassGlow Kiln
