Re: glass paperweights
As usual, one of my sponsors to the rescue: http://www.ugotglass.com/molds.htmjenny sharp wrote:I found a site a while back selling moulds for frit glass paper weights - like a fool I didnt mark the page and have been searching since - can anyone enlighten me?
Still there: http://www.warmglass.com/Advanced.htm (Lots of stuff hidden here and there on the site, it's probably time for me to redo the file structure......)whats happened to the warm glass advanced tutorial page?
The way I do it is to put the dollar bill between two pieces of float glass that are a bit bigger than the dollar. Fire to around 1500F, but not enough to fuse the glass together. Then handle with care. (I took this out of later printings of my book, but it was in the first one.)I cant wait to try fusing dollar bills - having got some on a recent trip abroad I aim to have fun this week end

thanks brad - what a treasure you are. I am enjoying my new hobby of fusing by experimenting with float glass with metal inclusions and paint to make fishes of all shapes and sizes (plus birthday cards of octopus etc. etc.) I recently visited the caribbean and came back with loads of seeds and heavy weight leaves which I intend to play with soon. I wanted to experiment using the paperweight frit mould and was getting a bit frustrated as I couldnt find it. It's getting late in london so will say good night and thanks again for your speedy response.
