dichroic pendant progress

New pendants, I'm happy with the silver bails. Some would look better with gold bails. Know of any available?

Ive always been wondering how to get such detail as in your tree and your horeses in the dichro ? could you give up you secret. I havent tried making jewlry yet but I'd love to make some for my MOM

lauri, a bail is the part that allows you to suspend the pendant from a chain

Tyler, The horses and tree are etched by hand into the dichro glass using an engraving tool.

What size are your pendants? How do you engrave so small an area?

engraving tool like a dremmel I have one of those , Which tip to you use ?
You mean engrav your pattern into it before or after firing ?, im confused.

Tajai,
I use an Inland easymark with the tip that came on it. Its small like a big pen and much easier to handle than my Dremal which will work but even with a flex shaft is much harder to control.The Inland is designed for signatures and since mine is years old I've heard I'm lucky it still works. I got mine at Alpine stained glass for under $30.00.
The images are etched, you are removing the dichroic coating, before firing.

The smallest pendants are 1 inch across. I use magnifying glasses and go stir crazy in about 30 minutes and have to go do heavy work. Which is no problem around here as I care for 25 horses.
