FRIT CASTING,,,size Q

i realize that if i use fine grain powder, then the glass will opaque,,,what would be the smallest mesh size that i can use, and still get a translucent glass,,,does temp and hold time have anything to do with this,,,,any help in this matter is appreciated,,,,thanks,,,,rodney

Here's the general theory. The larger the chunk of glass melted, the fewer the bubbles, the less cloudy. I've actually begun pre casting 5 lbs blocks, to get the best possible clarity of the final casting.
The hotter you go, for longer, will allow bubbles to rise through the glass to the top. But I don't think anyone has the patience to allow powder to fine out.
Another possible solution is combos with powders, frit and balnks. The problem with that is keeping each element in place as it fuses.
