pot melting

Post by Terrik »

I'm confused. I'm attempting a pot melt of my scrap glass. If I fill a pot with glass and suspend it 4" or so from my saucer, what do I suspend it with, if I use kiln posts they obviously will end up fused to the glass, even if I melt onto my shelf, the post will end up in the glass? I guess I'm really confused, can anyone help?

cut up kiln shelves. sliced floor tiles. metal rack. something to build a small bridge that the pot sits on and lets the glass go through. this allows you to move the posts out further so they don't incorporated into your piece.
