Steel blue and borax

Simple question, will borax prevent steel blue (or a glass that behaves similarly) from 'steeling' and keep it blue? I am not using 90 or 96 COE so the oversprays are out, and clear capping won't work with what I am doing.

Thanks, lissa.

Does that mean that the borax prevents the steeling of the blue?

yes. basically, anything that prevents oxygen getting to the surface in the 1300-1400F temp range causes the steeling to not occur.

there's actually a good explanation of the process in the new b.e. catalog on page 9.
