Pate de Verre Small Vessels with Powders and Frit

Instructor:  Jody Danner Walker

Three days

Learn the exquisite kiln casting technique of Pâte de Verre in this workshop! Translated literally to “paste of glass,” this method is a more contemporary version
of pate de verre.

In this 3 day class, you will make delicate pieces with imagery, using powders and fine frit, including 1 small flat piece and 2 small bowl shaped vessels.

Students in this workshop will learn the steps of mold making, creating their own hand built plaster molds in the form of a vessel. Students will pack their molds with an array of colored glass frit to be cast in our kilns.

If you have favorite old spoons (to be used in class), please feel free to bring them along. If you don’t, tools will be provided, however additional tools are appreciated.
