Sand Painting in Glass

Instructor:  Samantha Allen

One day

Learn how to use small pieces of glass frit to create beautiful, unique sand paintings in the tradition of Native American Sandpainting.  This technique, which was adapted for glass by glass artist, David Alcala, is easy to learn and adapts well to landscapes and abstract designs.

No glass cutting required.  We’ll show you all the steps, from creating the framework to hold the pieces to arranging and shaping your designs to getting ready to fire in the kiln.  Pieces will be fired after the class and will be ready to pick up or ship to you early the following week.

All materials included, no experience necessary.

All levels, one day.
